BLAGNAC
Take three square metres of forest – including the humus-rich soil, its roots, and its aerial and subterranean inhabitants, whether real or imagined – and place the whole thing on a theatre stage. Observe it all at length and intently over four seasons, night and day. Something is bound to happen… *Murmures* will be the result of this observation. The sort of observation which, patient and discreet, allows the lives of plants, animals, and visible and invisible beings to reveal themselves to the eye. It will be a matter of discovering the animals we hear, those we sense, whose very breath we feel; of allowing supernatural beings to emerge—those lurking beneath a stone, at the bottom of a stream or in the heart of the mist… *Murmures* will seek to surprise the audience and awaken them to new perceptions and sensations; to instil in them a deep longing to wander amongst the trees and listen to it all.
