Le Grau d’Agde
This Natura 2000 site, most of which is owned by the Conservatoire du littoral, features a network of ponds that are home to exceptional biodiversity, thanks to the temporary nature of the water.
The first part of the evening will be devoted to the history of the site, from its origins to the present day, in the company of an expert on the numerous World War II relics found on the site. This will be followed by a shared picnic (to be provided by participants) on site, whilst we wait for the sunset, the first croaking of the frogs and the emergence of the bats.
The second part will be a night-time excursion to discover the small creatures (amphibians, aquatic insects, bats, etc.) that inhabit the ponds; a park ranger from the Agglo will introduce you to what was previously invisible to you.
If you’d like to learn more about the local history, as well as frogs, toads and newts, this is the perfect outing! It’s suitable for both children and adults!
