TOULOUSE
A quintessential piece from the symphony orchestra’s repertoire, this work—dedicated to a ‘great man’—suddenly transforms into a portrait of the orchestra itself, as seen through the musicians who make it up. This is the concept proposed by director Aurélien Bory, through an ingenious stage and video setup that projects each musician’s face onto a screen in real time. With no conductor to lead them, the musicians will find themselves in a rare state of focus and attentiveness. A return to musical instinct to celebrate Beethoven’s genius in this year marking the bicentenary of his death.
