TOULOUSE
The aim of the festival is to bring the best of contemporary Italian cinema to Toulouse and the surrounding region, in the presence of major actors and directors, and with a host of tributes and special screenings.
This year’s Rencontres du cinéma italien festival features a selection of 22 films, divided between competition, previews and panorama. Claudia Cardinale will be honoured with an exhibition and two emblematic screenings, and there will also be a focus on the character of Casanova in cinema. Special events punctuate the programme, including an evening debate on the film Berlinguer, la grande ambition and the national premiere of Il maestro. As well as screenings at the ABC cinema, the festival is being extended to a number of cinemas in the Greater Toulouse area.
