TOULOUSE
*La Source d’Yggdrasil* by the composer Camille Pépin draws on Norse mythology and the struggle between the forces of life and the forces of destruction. It is clearly the former that prevail in this programme, given the works full of panache and verve that follow: Saint-Saëns’ highly virtuosic Violin Concerto No. 3 and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2. Two rising stars of the music world are set to breathe new life into the stage at the Halle aux Grains: the Italian conductor Riccardo Bisatti and the Brazilian violinist Guido Sant’Anna.
