SOREZE
As part of the Fête de la Science, the annual ‘Science en Tarn’ event brings together researchers, organisations, educational institutions, science communicators and enthusiasts for a programme of activities designed to introduce as many people as possible to the world of science.
This year, the Cité de Sorèze has the honour of hosting the Science Village on 10 and 11 October 2026. Over two afternoons, from 2 pm to 6 pm, the public will be able to take part in around twenty workshops, demonstrations, experiments and talks organised by a wide range of scientific, technical and cultural organisations from the region.
At the heart of this programme, the Cité de Sorèze will run its own interactive stand, featuring an original and immersive guided tour. Visitors will be invited to follow an 18th-century explorer who, having returned from his travels around the world, will come to share his discoveries and observations. Inspired by the great travellers and naturalists of the Age of Enlightenment, this character will bring to life the spirit of scientific curiosity that drove 18th-century scholars.
This activity will enable visitors to discover how explorers helped to enrich our knowledge of peoples, territories, fauna, flora and the natural sciences, whilst offering a unique insight into the history and collections of the Cité de Sorèze.

Free entry to the Science Village in the Abbey School. Reduced admission to the Dom Robert Museum on weekend afternoons. Standard admission charges apply in the mornings.
