PECHABOU
### Sciences en terrasse is coming to Pechabou!
For the first time, Sciences en terrasse – better known as PhD Pub – is leaving Toulouse city centre to set up shop here in Pechabou. Join us on Tuesday 24 November and Tuesday 8 December at 8 pm at the Bar du bout de la colline, which will be open specially from 7.30 pm to 10.30 pm for the occasion.
### Tuesday 24 November: the next generation goes wild!
Five PhD students, ten minutes each, zero jargon (or almost none). On the programme: molecular super-sponges which, rest assured, don’t do the washing-up; the mystery of the Milka cow’s immune system, which is said to have turned her purple; the effect of sanctions on pupils, or what research really tells us; avian flu in the face of climate change; and finally, drought – to understand it better and take more effective action.
### Tuesday 8 December: the stars of research!
Four established researchers will make their way up to our hill to share their discoveries: a biologist, a neurolinguist, a sociologist specialising in the world of work, and an astrophysicist. From cells to stars, via language and the world of work, there’ll be something to satisfy every curiosity.
Here, there’ll be no lectures or note-taking: just discovery, discussion and a great atmosphere. Parents, pensioners, students and curious minds of all kinds: these evenings are made for you. And who knows, you might even leave knowing the Milka cow better than anyone else!
Entry is free, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the bar is open for you to enjoy a drink whilst your mind is being stimulated.
We look forward to seeing lots of you at the Bar du bout de la colline!
