Alongside the National and International Chess Meetings, Château Laurens is opening its doors for an evening dedicated to the 1,001 ways to play chess.
Come and join us for an evening dedicated to the endless possibilities of chess. The rules are such that there is a wealth of ways to apply them on a chessboard: fast-paced, one-way, without repetition… Grandmasters and specialists will introduce you to the 1,001 ways to play chess in an atmosphere of jazz and discovery.
At 10.00 pm: one of the participants will be chosen at random to take on the evening’s champion on a giant chessboard. And to make the game even more challenging, the champion will be playing blindfolded!
Programme:
– 8.00 pm: doors open
– 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm: wander freely through the rooms of Château Laurens from one chessboard to another in the company of specialist players
– 10.00 pm: giant blindfold challenge

The ticket includes access only to the Grand Salon, the ground floor and the first floor of the monument, as well as the Blue Room, where the ‘Odyssey of Chess’ exhibition is on display.
Places are limited; only by booking in advance can you be sure of a place at the event.
