Rosaura, a beautiful and wealthy Venetian woman, meets four suitors of four different nationalities: Mylord Runebif, the Englishman, Monsieur Le Blau, the Frenchman, Don Alvaro de Castille, the Spaniard, and Count Bosco Nero, the Italian.
Each of them courts her through the mischievous Arlequin. But Rosaura is undecided…
With the help of her lady-in-waiting, Marionnette, she devises a plan to help her make her choice. But surprises, like love – especially in Venice – are always just around the corner…
