AGDE
The curtain rises on the delightfully zany world of the first stage adaptation of Patrice Leconte’s film Les Grands Ducs.
Georges Cox, Victor Vialat and Eddie Carpentier are old comedians on the comeback trail.
One is running out of money, the second is struggling in retirement, and the third has such a reputation that no one wants to hire him anymore.
Nevertheless, all three manage to get hired for a play. A mediocre boulevard play called Scoubidou, starring Carlo Milo, an eccentric diva.
Their debt-ridden producer, Chapiron fils, will do everything in his power to sabotage their tour and collect the insurance money.
But the three actors resist with panache, defending their small roles and refusing to let what may well be the last chance of their lives slip through their fingers.
