TOULOUSE
Gypsy jazz, a musical style pioneered by guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stéphane Grappelli in the 1930s, is now a clearly identified musical movement, recognised internationally as an integral part of France’s musical heritage.
On the programme for this 2nd edition: three exceptional evenings dedicated to gypsy jazz. On Thursday, Django Viatge opens the ball at the Jazz Club Le Taquin, on Friday it’s Florin Niculescu’s turn at the Salle du Sénéchal, and on Saturday the festival closes with Stochelo Rosenberg at the MAC. Each concert combines virtuosity, emotion and sharing, offering a refined panorama of the different aesthetics of the genre, a precious moment for all discerning jazz fans.
