The City of Carcassonne is proud to announce the return of the Tour de France in 2026! Once again, the Medieval City will vibrate to the rhythm of the world’s greatest cycling race. Carcassonne will be the starting point of the 4th stage, leading the riders to Foix, in the heart of the Ariège Pyrenees.

The start of the Tour de France 2026 in Carcassonne will offer an exceptional spectacle: between the UNESCO World Heritage-listed ramparts, the picturesque streets, and the festive atmosphere, the city promises a memorable day for cycling enthusiasts and visitors from around the world.
The riders will leave the City of Carcassonne to head towards the first Pyrenean foothills, in a stage combining the beauty of the landscapes and a sporting challenge.
