AGDE
An exploration of local traditions and festivals through the daily lives of the people of Agat in the days when the streets echoed with Occitan voices, and in particular the Occitan festival of the dead.
As Balthazar Jordan pointed out in his *History of the Town of Agde*, published in 1824: “The people of Agde, whilst they understand French, do not speak it, and the upper classes readily abandon it in favour of Languedoc, which is the language of their birth.”
