This historical novel in the form of a road movie is part of a six-year project on the Canal du Midi. For the first time, these fictional “memories” are those of humble men and women whose endemic illiteracy at the time has deprived us of their testimony. With Jean Pigasse, we follow the adventure of the Canal, relive the atmosphere of the building sites, share the difficulties, marvel at the technical innovations, and take part in the construction of the engineering structures: the Rigole, the Saint-Ferréol lake, the Répudre canal-bridge, the Malpas tunnel… “
