Set in the era of the Sun King, a man recounts the construction of the Canal du Midi. In this historical novel in the style of a road movie, we follow the canal’s journey, relive the atmosphere of the construction sites, share in its difficulties and its wonder at technical innovations, and take part in the building of the engineering structures: the Rigole, Lake Saint-Ferréol, the Répudre canal bridge, the Malpas tunnel…
A one-hour public reading followed by a discussion with the author Michèle Teysseyre and a book-signing session. (Booking required).
