Château Laurens in Agde is taking part in the European Heritage Days on 19 and 20 September 2026 with a special tour entitled ‘30 Years of Heritage: An Exceptional Restoration’

This themed guided tour offers an insight into the key challenges involved in the restoration of Château Laurens, from the condition of the building prior to the works to the decisions taken to preserve its architecture and décor. As you explore the main rooms on the ground floor, discover how historical research, building conservation, the restoration of the décor and specialist expertise have brought the château back to life. From the grand vestibule to the Moorish drawing room, from the dining room to the private apartments, each space highlights a different aspect of the restoration work: conserving, consolidating, restoring and, where necessary, reconstructing without inventing.

A 15-minute tour of the ground floor of the monument.
Through various points of interest, brought to life by the team of guides, you will discover the features of one of the largest heritage restoration projects in the Occitanie region whilst strolling through the festive decorations and the impressive study in the private apartments.
In the historic garden, you can also enjoy the exhibition along the banks of the Hérault, ‘Natural Histories: 400 Years of Scientific Illustrations’, organised in partnership with the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
