Description

Divers Uni Vers offers guided tours in Sète and Thau designed for children (ages 4–12). Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Marine, the Divers Uni Vers guide, is passionate and engaging. She tells stories and shares her knowledge. She loves sharing her knowledge about the region, particularly regarding environmental education. In addition, she leads children’s workshops throughout the year.

All tours are on foot, in small groups, covering a limited area to fully explore its richness.
For each tour, there is an adult version and a children’s version.

Overview of guided tours of Sète
Sète Culture
1. Upper District (1.5 hours)
– Adult version: “Historical and Artistic Site.”
Set out to explore Sète’s oldest neighborhood, from its founding to the present day. This long, narrow neighborhood is dotted with works of art and rich in anecdotes. The Upper Quarter is steeped in history and art!
– Children’s version: %AB Artists of S%E8te %BB.
This is an introduction to art. You’ll discover artists across various disciplines (music, theater, poetry, painting, graffiti, etc.), accompanied by a character from a children’s book.

2. Sète, a Port City (1.5 hours)
– Adult version: %AB Conquering the Sea %BB.
S%E8te is a major port city. You’ll discover the history of its four ports while exploring its golden ages of prosperity. The maritime and port culture is truly the foundation of Sète’s identity.
– Children’s version: “Funny Boats.”
Discover the different types of boats from the docks. Their shapes give you clues about their functions. Every young sailor will leave with their own little boat.

3. Origins and Notable Figures of Sète (1.5 hours)
– Adult version: %AB Brassens, P. Valéry, Figuration libre, … %BB.
The creation and evolution of Sète as a port city will be discussed. You’ll also discover artists from Sète. Through the lives of its figures and the story of its great moments of prosperity, Sète inspires.
– Children’s version: %AB Artists and Sailors of Sète %BB.
You’ll discover artists of all kinds (music, theater, poetry, painting, etc.), accompanied by a character from a children’s book. Plus, from a vantage point, you’ll observe maritime activity.

4. Street Art on Rue de Tunis (1h10 – 10 min)
– Adult version: %AB Street Art %BB.
Welcome to this charming and captivating street, a hotspot for street art in Sète. You won’t know where to look first! You’ll identify the street artists and references to Sète’s local culture.
– Children’s version: “A Colorful Street.”
Children will take part in a scavenger hunt, photo rally-style, along a street filled with drawings and colors.
Included: A book about a Sète legend, which will be told to you.

5. Quais Canaux and its animals (1.5 hours)
– Adult version: %AB Little Venice and Marine Animals %BB.
%C0 On foot, from the quays, you’ll observe the canals—these waterways where boats and marine life glide by, reflected in the water. Come discover biodiversity with Marine, a true enthusiast!
– Children’s version: %AB Animals of the Waterways – %BB.
As you observe the aquatic animals, you’ll discover their %AB superpowers %BB. You might even get the chance to see a giant clam. This is its last refuge!

6. Thau Lagoon (1.5 hours)
– Adult version: %AB The Thau Lagoon-Human Connection – Pointe Courte and Longue Neighborhoods -%BB.
Conditions are favorable for the survival of many species and humans. Pointe Courte is a typical fishing neighborhood. At Pointe Longue, the lagoon is studied and showcased.
– Children’s version: %AB Nature Exploration %BB.
You’ll focus on iconic species. As they go, the children will illustrate their map of the area with colors and representative symbols.

7. With the Sea (1.5 hours)
– Adult version: %AB Strong Bonds %BB.
The island of Sète has become a peninsula, between sea and land. These saltwater explorations highlight the connections with the marine world. On the beach, you will identify the debris left by the sea.
– Children’s version: %AB Beach, Shells, and Crustaceans %BB.
By collecting what the sea leaves on the beach, you’ll rediscover marine life. Through quizzes, young sea explorers will test their knowledge and learn while having fun.

8. Mont Saint Clair (1.5 hours)
– Adult version: %AB Ascent and Panorama %BB.
Legends and stories surround this unique formation. During this tour, you’ll be amazed by exceptional panoramic views of the surrounding area, stretching from the Thau Basin to the Mediterranean Sea.
– Children’s version: %AB Climbing the Hill – True and Legendary Stories %BB.
Marine delves deeper into the legends, stories, and anecdotes linked to gods and pirates.

9. Tours in Frontignan-Plage (1.5 hours): Thursdays, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

10. Tours in Balaruc-les-Bains (1.5 hours): Mondays, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, and Wednesdays from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

11. Scavenger Hunt %E0 S%E8te (1.5 hours): by reservation.
– Children’s version only: %AB In Search of the Pirate’s Treasure %BB.
Challenge: Search for clues and complete the challenges to finally find the treasure of the pirate Barberoussette.
Requirements: Minimum of 4 children, accompanied by an adult, ready to climb the hill.

When you book, Marine will let you know the meeting place and how to get there.
End of the tour: varies depending on the tour you choose. The arrival point is different from the departure point.
Recommendations: Wear comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and bring water.
