The Saint-Louis lighthouse stands at the end of the môle Saint-Louis, the 650-meter-long stone causeway built when the town was founded. Built around 1680, demolished in 1944 by German mines, it was rebuilt in 1948 and continues to signal the entrance to the channel with its red light.
