MONTBRUN-LAURAGAIS
Guided tour of the Montbrun Lauragais windmill. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides will show you how this 17th-century windmill, which is still in working order, operates, recount its history and give you an insight into the lives of millers. The tour concludes with a demonstration of the mill in action and a demonstration of how flour is made from locally grown wheat.
An exhibition hall, set up for the occasion in the multi-purpose hall, will allow you to explore, through scale models, the different types of mills and the mechanisms that power these historic structures, to appreciate the restoration process of the windmill, and to discover the various types of cereals grown in the region. An exhibition on the cultivation of alfalfa complements this display.
