**Exhibition: Paintings by Marie Cuq**
Painting exhibition: **journeys near and far…**
This exhibition, centred on the theme of travel, brings together various techniques used by Marie, our guest artist for July: oil and acrylic, brush and palette knife on cotton or linen canvases.
After spending some time in the studio, experimenting with watercolour, oil pastel and dry pastel, it was ultimately oil paint that became her medium of choice for her studio work initially, for portraits and landscapes.
Since her return from Latin America, where she lived for several years, Marie now uses acrylics to paint her landscapes: the vibrant colours of the houses in La Boca, Buenos Aires; the warmth of Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay; or the vastness of Talampaya National Park with its rocky cliffs in the province of San Juan (Argentina).
Other horizons, whether real or imaginary, feature in this exhibition, with a fascination for colour that sets the scene in her paintings and invites us to escape.
