AGDE
To mark World Cleanup Day, the Rev’olutions Douces charity, chaired by Samantha Klingelschmitt, invites you to join them for a morning dedicated to cleaning up the natural environment.
Every year, this international citizen-led campaign brings together millions of people around a common goal: to take practical action to reduce waste in our environment.
In Cap d’Agde, the initiative aims to be practical, local and community-focused, with the aim of bringing residents together around a concrete action to benefit the local area.
In this post-season period, following several months of high tourist numbers, natural areas and the coastal surroundings may still bear the marks of the summer.
This is yet another reason for volunteers to roll up their sleeves and take part in this collective effort in Cap d’Agde.
A collective of local stakeholders mobilised
For this year’s event, Rev’olutions Douces aims to bring together several committed local organisations to demonstrate that the ecological transition also depends on pooling energy and skills.
Les Colibris Agathois will be taking part in this initiative alongside Project Rescue Ocean, which will provide its Clean Up Box containing the bags, gloves and equipment needed for the clean-up.
Paddle Escap’Agde will also be present. Nathan, a guide and water sports instructor, will provide canoes to enable participants to access certain areas that are difficult to reach from land.
As places are limited, booking is essential on 07 60 03 41 65.
At 9.45 am, the teams will spring into action. Once the equipment has been handed out, participants will head to their designated areas, either on foot or by canoe for those taking part in the operation from the water.
The morning is open to dog owners, who can also take part in the clean-up whilst out walking their dogs.
From 11.15 am, the teams will gradually make their way back to the Casino Barrière. The waste collected will be gathered together and weighed to assess the outcome of the operation. A group photo will bring this morning’s clean-up to a close.
Beyond the clean-up itself, Rev’olutions Douces wishes to remind everyone that each of us can make a difference in our own way.
You don’t need to be an environmental expert: just a few hours, a pair of gloves and a bin bag can already help to preserve our environment.
