Global warming: Our two gîtes have a north/south flow. The walls are 80 cm thick and are not made of concrete but of solid bricks known as “foraines”, an insulator with a high inertia. As everywhere else in the south of France, in summer you have to close the windows during the day and leave them wide open at night (where we are located, there is no problem with the safety of people or property). This is the oldest air-conditioning system, with air circulating through it. The roof over the balcony/terrace protects against direct sunlight. In addition, the trees and creepers planted along the walls act as natural insulators. If you’re careful, you’ll stay within normal temperatures in very hot weather. We have a very efficient colonial-style ceiling fan in the main room, and a column fan in the master bedroom. Finally, as tiger mosquitoes made their appearance this summer, we are going to install removable mosquito nets.
The park has been awarded the “Oasis Nature” and “refuge LPO” (Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux) labels.

and even, with an adult present for children, to observe the life of the pond.
If you’re unfamiliar with the area, Violette will be delighted to help you plan your own itinerary.
