SOREZE
A page of history, between ancient mill, oppidum, Abbey School, Canal and Rigole.
At the foot of the Montagne Noire, fed by the Sor river, the Moulin du Chapitre is an old flour mill. Its owners open their doors to you for a stay in a gîte or bed and breakfast offering a pleasant change of scenery. You’ll be welcomed into an atmosphere of creativity, just a stone’s throw from the Lac de St Ferréol, the Rigole de Riquet and the Sources du Canal du Midi! Sorèze and its Abbey School, the Dom Robert museum, Durfort, the copper village, and the bastide town of Revel are all just a short walk away. Look up and you’ll see the Berniquaut oppidum, which has always attracted people’s attention and lives; it’s still very popular with walkers today.
Three guest rooms in the mill, one of which is a family room, each with en-suite facilities. Two bedrooms on the ground floor, with independent access, sleep two people (one double bed, the other two single beds). The third bedroom, a family room, is upstairs. Living room with piano. Living room with fully-equipped kitchen area reserved for guests. Shared garden furniture, table football, table tennis, swing, also to be shared with holidaymakers in the gîte. In fine weather, you can enjoy a convivial breakfast on the terrace beside the river, or in the large dining room, formerly the blutoir!
