Charming gîte “Maison de l’abbé”. We welcome you all year round in the heart of Sorèze a listed village and grand site Occitania. The house dates back to 1732 and was renovated with passion. It is located in an enclosed garden with a beautiful view on St Martin bell tower and the foothills of Montagne Noire.
Sorèze is a village with a prestigious historic past, thanks to its Benedictine abbey founded in 754.
Heritage lovers can lose themselves in the village medieval streets, walking in the footsteps of the pilgrims (on the Way from Arles to Santiago de Compostela), visit the Abbey School, discover Dom Robert Museum (one of the mastersof 20th-century tapestry) or the work of Pierre Paul Riquet, the brilliant designer of the Canal du Midi.
Nature lovers can discover Montagne Noire, its forests and its ‘rigole’, on foot, by bike or on horseback, as well as the St-Ferreol lake 3 km away.
And don’t forget the Saturday morning market in Revel, listed as one of the most beautiful markets in France.
