MONTESQUIEU-LAURAGAIS
La Guinguette du Mas Cantegril, in Montesquieu-Lauragais, has become a must-visit spot for summer evenings in the Lauragais. Nestled in the heart of the countryside, in a bucolic and rural setting, it opens its doors every Tuesday evening from May to August, from 7pm to 11pm, for simple, friendly and warm-hearted evenings.
People come here to nibble, raise a glass, have a natter and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, punctuated by games of pétanque and sunsets over the countryside.
The set-up is deliberately down-to-earth: orders are placed at the counter, then everyone collects their basket filled with local produce, chilled drinks and vintage crockery before settling down wherever they like, whether near the pétanque court, around the games area or at the tables in the shade. The atmosphere is family-friendly, with outdoor games available for young and old alike.
The menu showcases producers from Occitanie, featuring farmhouse sausages, dried duck breast, cheeses, hummus, anchoïade, regional wines and craft beers. A selection of sweet treats and non-alcoholic drinks rounds off the offering. All this can be enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere, in an eco-friendly setting where the welcome is warm and attentive.
As the guinguette is very popular, booking is strongly recommended. An ideal summer break to enjoy the mild climate of the Lauragais.
